Show Me the Receipts: Your Right to an Audit
If you suspect your agency is skimming off the top or “miscalculating” expenses, you have the right to audit.
The Obligation: A professional agency agreement must include an Audit Clause, allowing your CPA to inspect their books regarding your earnings. If the audit finds a discrepancy of more than 5%, the agency usually has to pay for the cost of the audit itself.
The Bottom Line: Transparency is a requirement, not a favor.
